Hi! I'm Dr. Loretta Barry, PT, DPT

I’m a pelvic floor physical therapist and founder of Floora, a space dedicated to empowering moms with knowledge, support, and real solutions.

My journey started with a deep curiosity about the human body. I earned my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa. Early on, I worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, but quickly realized there was so much more to understand—especially when it came to injury, healing, and movement.

I went on to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific, where I developed a strong passion for orthopedics. That passion led me to complete the orthopedic residency program at Kaiser Permanente, sharpening my clinical skills and deepening my knowledge.

Then came motherhood—and everything changed. After having my first child, I was shocked by how little support and education existed for postpartum women. As a physical therapist, I felt lost in my own body. I couldn’t believe how many symptoms—like leaking during workouts, pelvic heaviness, or pain—were dismissed as “just part of being a mom.”

That’s why I created Floora. I’m on a mission to bridge the gap in postpartum care and to tell women the truth: peeing when you run is not normal (even during pregnancy), that heaviness you feel down there isn’t something you have to live with, and there are ways to get back to feeling strong, confident, and at home in your body. I'm here to help you get there.
